Yesterday I was still kind of recovering from last weekend's road trip to Utah, so I slept in until a little after 11am. I woke up and had a text message asking me if I wanted to drive to Vegas for the MWC tournament championship game.
Since I hadn't been to even one basketball game this year I decided I should probably make this happen. The game started at 4, we left Aliso Viejo at 1. Thanks to Lynn's lead foot we only missed the first 5 minutes of the first half. Lynn and I have never attended a winning basketball game together, so maybe we should have taken the hint and stayed home. In keeping with tradition BYU choked and lost to UNLV. Although, I have to say, the Thomas & Mack Center was LOUD yesterday. Why in the world the MWC is holding the tournament on UNLV's home court is beyond me. At least we didn't pay for parking. The little parking guy took one look at us, asked if we really just drove all the way from California for the game, and then said "well then just go ahead and park for free." So the game was kind of disappointing, but the road trip was pretty fun. We stopped at Whiskey Pete's in Primm on the way home for some food...I wouldn't recommend it. The dessert bar was the only really great part about that buffet. I got this picture, that little person out in front there is me.
I did get to drive a loaded '07 Lexus on the way home when Lynn started to doze off and had to turn the wheel over to me. I guess her trip to Scotland this week started to catch up with her. Anyway, it was a pretty decent way to spend my Saturday.
