Most of the time I love living in Huntington Beach, and I love living close to the water. Unfortunately the 4th of July is not one of those times. I was here one year for the 4th and swore that would never happen again. Every year since I've packed up and headed somewhere, anywhere really to get away from the throngs of people that invade the area. I'm not one who likes feeling too confined to begin with, so when I discovered that it gets so crowded down here that you can't move your car (or you won't be able to park it again) I realized that me, HB, and the 4th don't mix.
Unfortunately I'm also not really what one would call a "planner." In fact, I am all about just sort of throwing things together spur of the moment. This holds especially true when it comes to vacations. Usually I manage to pull something together, but this year I goofed around, didn't get to it, and now here I am...Huntington Beach on July 3rd. Thankfully Meredith has generously offered to come pick me up and take me somewhere outside of my walking distance if it starts to become overwhelming tomorrow, and odds are it will. I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow of the masses congregating here. The beach is already looking a little crowded. :(
