New roommates...

When I moved into my new place there were only two girls there, and two additional open spots. (This has been attributed to the poor hygiene of the girl who was living in my room. See previous posts if you need more information.) The two remaining roommates are best friends and they share a room...and a bed. I find it to be a bit odd, but aside from that they both seem very normal, so whatever works for them I guess. One of the girls is a not a church member, but she's from SLC, so she knows what's expected of her living with a bunch of Mormons, and I've been reassured that aside from her never attending church with us, I'd never even notice. So far that seems to be accurate. No issues there. That roommate left to go home to Utah for the entire month of December, so there have just been two of us at home. The remaining roommate I was entirely uncertain about her because she can be sort of loud, and I'm not always the biggest fan of loud people, but she's turning out to be okay.

The next new roommate was scheduled to arrive last night from New Hampshire, so we were at home awaiting her arrival. She showed up with a friend, and not long after her arrival announced that her cat will be arriving via plane in about a week, and she hopes that's not a problem. All I managed in response to that was to rather tactlessly announce "oh, the first time I smell the litter box it's going to be a BIG problem." I think she was offended. She said that she's already checked with the landlord, who is making her pay an arm and a leg to house the thing, but I guess no one thought to mention this to me.

The cat...I'm just not okay with it, and I think I'm just going to have to let her know.

How did you get yourself in this kind of situation...is the house/location worth it?
