Outed.

A girl in the ward sent me a text message yesterday asking if I wanted to join her and a few other girls for dinner at a "great Indian restaurant." I'm still kind of new, so turning down these kinds of invitations is not an option. So I went with them. I'm glad I did, first off it turned out to not be a "few other girls." Half the relief society would probably be more accurate. The Indian restaurant turned out to be that Kabal Palace or whatever it's called off of PCH in Long Beach that we used to go to all the time. We had fun, and of course our poor waiter(s) seemed happy to have a big group, but kind of overwhelmed too.

After dinner we all went over to one of the girl's houses for a while to hang out, chit chat... One of the guys in the ward dropped by just as I was getting up to leave, and stopped me to say that his dad had called and told him about a girl that posts on a sports board, she lives in HB...and because I am completely unable to come up with believable lies, when he was stumbling around trying to remember the screenname, I finally just provided it for him (he was already pretty sure it was me anyway). Every girl there turned & stared at me, and I got the "it's you?!?!" It's always a little bit awkward when my real life and my online life collide. Well maybe more embarrassing, than awkward. Anyhow, the guy didn't tell me what else his dad decided to share, and I'm not sure I really want to know. However, he did say that one of his friends in the ward recently got a very similar phone call from his father. I don't quite know how to even respond to that.

I guess the gig is up and having a following doesn't sound all that bad - who knows you may get something good out of it.
