The New Toy

My iphone is taking over my life. I can't seem to put it down. Tuesday nights I go to the gym. Not this week. I got so wrapped up playing with the phone that I finally decided at 2am to go to bed. Of course laying in bed I thought of new things I wanted to do with the phone, so I got it out again, and the next thing I knew my alarm was going off. I woke up thinking that it was weird, because I don't even remember putting the phone away and going to sleep. Oh...that's because I didn't. I found it laying there in my bedding where it must have dropped out of my hand when I dozed off.

Yesterday I discovered the applications library, and after downloading everything from light saber sounds to a rotary dialer (which turned out to not be all that cool, since it doesn't have any accompanying sound effects) the battery finally gave out around 1am and I fell asleep.

The first thing I found myself doing when I woke up this morning was checking to make sure the phone was properly charged up for the day, which it was. All morning at work I kept thinking of new applications to search for, and different things to try out. After downloading a few free games and a complete copy of Robinson Crusoe, and searching for football highlight videos on youtube, I've finally decided that I must put the phone in my purse in a desk drawer, and not touch it again until after work. I have thus far exhibited a shocking lack of self-restraint when it comes to this new device. In fact, it might be in my best interest to not touch it again for the rest of the day, maybe that way I can get myself out the door to the gym this evening.
