Earthquake

I went up to the Bostonian for dinner last night. After dinner there was a group of 7 of us sitting around the table playing some card game. We were just going along when the ground started to rumble a bit, and then it started really shaking. I don't think I'll ever get used to earthquakes. There's just something very unnerving about the ground underneath you bouncing up and down. This one really felt like a pretty big one, and I suppose the fact that I was in Long Beach, which is relatively close to the epicenter was a contributing factor. Either way, everything in that house started creaking and you could kind of hear the earthquake which freaked me out a bit, and I guess it had a similar effect on the rest of the card players because five us hit the deck underneath the table, and the other two bolted for the back door. It's the first time I've ever taken cover during an earthquake. All that effort to get under the table, and then nothing happened. So anti-climatic...which is not to say that I was hoping for mass destruction or anything.
