Mt. Dew

I don't realy drink carbonated beverages very often, and when I do it's almost never a caffeinated drink. Caffeine kind of sends me through the roof, which is why I usually only drink it on all-night roadtrips or something.

Yesterday morning I had to go to San Diego for a training meeting. It wasn't early enough to justify me spending the night with friends on Friday night, but still early enough to make me feel rundown for the rest of the day on Saturday. After the training I was supposed to meet a friend down there and go to Seaworld.

I fell asleep while said friend was showering to get ready to go. I was so tired that I couldn't really seem to get myself fully awake after that so we decided to scratch Seaworld and just eat dinner. Somewhere in there I thought it would be a good idea to get some Mt. Dew to wake myself up. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It definitely woke me right up and at 1am I was still wide awake, talking to my dozing friend. I finally said I was going home, but that idea was met with some resistance. Apparently this friend felt that sooner rather than later the caffeine would wear off, and I would crash and crash hard, and I probably shouldn't be driving when that happened. I was offered a couch for the night. I wasn't really big on the idea, but I laid down for a minute, and I remember saying "I just think I would sleep a lot better if I were home in my own bed." The next thing I remember I was waking up on the couch this morning. I'd rather wake up on a couch than in a hospital, so good call on not turning me loose behind the wheel of a car. I guess this is just one more reason why I shouldn't be allowed to go near Mt. Dew unless it's 1am and I'm just barely getting through Vegas on my way home to Utah...actually even then I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Next time try Dr. Pepper. Not only does it taste better, it's not quite as pep-inducing.

Um, not that I know... that's just what I've heard.
