So I met the Oreo last night. These guys were hilarious. They came to pick me up and told me that we were going to meet the uncle of the two Mexican brothers because he's coming with us. So we go over to the Uncle's house, and he loads us all into his SUV and says that we need to go drive by some guys house in his ward to pick up BYU football tickets for his sister. We get to this house and the guy comes out with the tickets. It's a guy from my fantasy football league. I have no idea what he said about me, but when Uncle Job followed him back into the house he must have said something, because Job reported back that he had nothing but good to say about me.
With that behind us we headed off to Angel's stadium. Although Job had apparently never been there and kept asking me if we were going the right way...which is kind of scary. When we got there Job offered to buy all the tickets. So when he comes back with tickets he said he decided to go big and bought us tickets in the padded chair seats, with waitress service. They were pretty great seats actually. Unfortunately I would say that we hadn't been seated for more than one inning when the guy behind us spilled his beer all down the back of myself and Nate. It was one of those incredibly uncomfortable moments where the still sober offender was mortified, and overly apologetic and Nate was trying to wipe the beer off of me with a napkin...like that was going to do anything. According to other observers Nate took the majority of it in the back, and I just got the splash. Regardless we both smelled like we'd just been at a bar. Ammon decided to chit-chat with the offending party to try and make him feel a little better. They started talking, and it came out that the three of them had just driven here from Utah for the BYU-UCLA game. At which point the beer drinker realized he'd spilled beer on Mormons and was even more distraught. He offered to buy Nate and I something off the concessions menu. We declined and Job told us afterwards that we should have thought of him and ordered some Nachos.
Aside from the incident with the beer the rest of the game was actually pretty good. It was a very close game, and went into a tenth inning. Then there was a fireworks show afterwards. So after the game Job tells us all that we're going to go drop off his 3 year old nephew who was with us, and sound asleep, and then drive to Compton to drop off the football tickets, after which he's taking us all to Tommy Burger.
On the way to Compton we got to hear all about a crazy girl named Liz that Raul had taken out, and she brought along her brother to chaperone on the date. Now she continues to call Raul every couple of days for the last month trying to talk to him about it. Leaving messages like "Don't be afraid to call Raul," or "Raul, I'm not angry, we need to talk." Anyway, the entire time Job is interrupting with comments like "Come on Raul, give her a call. Give love a chance." or "Why are you so cold Raul? Why don't you embrace true love? Don't fight it."
We got from Compton and went to Tommy Burgers. Allow me to just say, I don't love that place. I've never been before, and it's more than likely that I'll never be back. First of all I'm a sloppy eater to begin with, and you put chilli on everything...well you do the math. Second of all my hands STILL smell like that chilli (and my hair still smells like beer). It was just too much. Anyway, it was still really good times.
They dropped me back off at my house around 2am. I'm going to pick-up the Oreo, sans Job this time, to drive to the game this afternoon. Which means I shoul probably be getting out of bed. These people are pretty hilarious, so I think it's going to be a good time.
