The prize at the bottom of the bag

In case my last post didn't make it obvious, I was pretty worked up about not being able to find my watch. My mother had already advised me that if I couldn't find it I would need to go buy a new one today, because I shouldn't even attempt to go through another weekday without one.

When I got home from work I invested a good hour or more searching everywhere I could think of for the missing watch. When I found myself checking my sock drawer I got frustrated and went downstairs to eat. I got out a bag of chips that was almost empty and dumped what was left in a bowl, and there was my watch. I have a theory about how it ended up in a bag of potato chips, but it's not really that interesting. The important thing to note here is that it's back, and it was a very happy reunion.

did someone hide it in the bag? Thats kind of clever and frustrating at the same time.

No, I think the watch got knocked off the coffee table into the bag of chips by someone who was reaching across the table to help themselves to my food. I think she knew where it was all along. She had acted weird and skiddish everytime I asked her about the watch (which is why I thought she stole it) and she didn't seem to be at all surprised when it come tumbling out of the bag. I like to think she just knocked it in there and didn't have time to dig it back out before I came back into the room, rather than planting it there intentionally.

I seriously doubt that your roommate accidentally knocked it in the bag of chips, but knew she did it, then lied to you about not knowing where it is.

Sorry, that is not believable.

Time to own up to the fact that you were falsely accusing them (if only in your own mind).

Put your feet in their shoes. How does it feel to be accused? I know what it feels like (over something like this), and it is maddeningly offensive.

Interesting perspective. Obviously you haven't met this person.
