You're probably reading this thinking I'm exaggerating, but my family will assure you that I am not. This little issue has inconvenienced them in many ways over the years. About two years ago I finally was presented with a solution to the problem. Tricia and I found this little gem:

This watch has been my lifesaver for the last two years. Not only does it have a timer, but it glows in the dark, it's waterproof, it beeps on the hour, and I think it's cute. I wear it almost everywhere. I only leave it home when it looks tacky with the outfit I'm wearing, and I'm going somewhere besides work. I even wear this while I'm in the shower and getting ready. I keep the time set and it beeps at me every 5 minutes, and I'm therefore aware that another 5 minutes has elapsed. The first time Sarah found about this I was getting ready, and about the 3rd time it went off she became annoyed and asked "what is that infernal beeping?" Once I explained, and she realized that it works for me, she rolled her eyes, but there was no more complaint about the beeping.
So with all this in mind, you may begin to comprehend what a devastating blow it has been to have the watch go missing two days ago. It's not so much an issue of losing an item I'm fond of, it's an issue of losing something that I need. I'm kind of a mess without it. Nothing beeps at me on the hour, and I completely forgot to take lunch yesterday until it was too late in the day to bother going, my showers have been way too long. I was coming close to the end of my cell phone minutes, and keeping an eye on the watch while I chatted on the phone...now I'm 45 minutes over (although I called t-mobile and worked something out, so I have a few more minutes and no overage). I was late for work this morning, and I just now realized that I could have left work 25 minutes ago. The worst part is, I have a sneaking suspicion that some unnamed individual actually stole it. It's like stealing a cane from a cripple. In all sincerity, I'm praying I find it, because I really can't get along without it.
