Thor

Sarah & Jared rolled into town, so I've been spending this weekend up in the LBC checking out the new nephew, Thor. This is my favorite picture of the little guy:
It's as Sarah describes, a "deeply suspicious look." Although truthfully he rarely looks like that. I think he generally looks more like he does in this one:

...Staring eyes and all. I don't see little babies very often anymore, so I guess I kind of forget how funny they are, and how quickly they can turn on you for no apparent reason. One second they're smiling, and the next they're writhing around grunting and whimpering, which is just a warning that you have only moments to figure out what the problem is before the little guy spirals down into a complete meltdown. I also forgot how funny they look when they get all excited and start flapping their little arms around. I discovered tonight when Sarah had me give him a bottle that eating is such an exciting activity for this baby that he not only flaps his arms around, but kicks his legs continuously to the point that it makes it kind of hard to keep the bottle in his mouth. Unfortunately Sarah says that he's not a whole lot calmer when he's nursing. I can only imagine how much fun that must be for her.

It's nice being Aunt Julie, when he gets too squirmy, or starts to cry I just hand him back and wait for someone else to figure out what the problem is, fix it, and hand him back to me. :)
