We arrived in Pine Valley around 2am Utah time, and spent the night there with Bro. & Sis. Nichols. It was pretty great not having to pull the all nighter to drive straight through, and the next night Bro. Nichols got up and made us breakfast.
On our way out of Pine Valley we decided to stop and see the Mountain Meadows Massacre monument. It was a short little detour that I figured we should make, since it's not like I make it out to Pine Valley all that often...as in, this was the first time in at least 15 years.
We got to my house around noon, and had very little time to just throw everything together and rush out the door to the temple. One of the things that amuses me the most in hindsight is that the only pictures I had ever seen of the interior of the Provo temple had left me with the distinct impression that it was very '70's. This picture for example:
I have no explanation for why I had never occurred to me that interior would have been updated by now. I am pleased to report that it has been updated, and the interior decor of the temple is very attractive, and did not make me feel as though I had stepped back in time.
As soon as I get the pictures from Shaine that were taken outside afterwards I will post them here. Stay tuned.
